The health of pregnant women and children is strongly influenced by adequate nutritional intake and adherence to prenatal supplementation. However, the utilization of nutritious local food resources and the capacity of community health volunteers to deliver health education remain suboptimal in many communities. This community service program aimed to empower community health volunteers in Tellumpoccoe Village, Maros Regency, Indonesia, through education, training, mentoring, and the application of simple health technologies to support maternal and child health. The program employed community development, educational, persuasive, and participatory approaches, including socialization, health education sessions, hands-on training in processing eggs into chicken nuggets, preparation of a pill box reminder, training on the use of basic health examination equipment, and subsequent monitoring and evaluation. The program resulted in improved knowledge among participants across all training topics, with mean post-test scores ranging from 90 to 100, exceeding the predetermined performance target. Furthermore, the community health volunteers successfully performed independent practices in local food processing, pill box reminder preparation, and the use of basic health examination equipment. Overall, the program effectively strengthened the volunteers’ knowledge, practical skills, and capacity to utilize simple health technologies, thereby enhancing their role in promoting sustainable maternal and child health within the community.
